Here at Sonata Medical Aesthetics, we are always looking for new and innovative treatments that will best serve our Colorado patients! One of the big breakthroughs we see on the horizon – and where a lot of research dollars are going – is to painless treatments with zero downtime.  We think of it as Down-low Beautiful!

Currently at the forefront of such technologies is the microneedle.  Right now, most microneedles are not quite 100% pain-free and do have minimal downtime. Usually you’ll need a little numbing and you’ll leave the office looking a tad red, with signs of treatment dissipating within couple of hours.  At Sonata, we are using the microneedle primarily for the “Vampire Facial,” using your own platelet rich plasma (PRP) to simulate collagen production, resulting in more firm and youthful looking skin. Kim Kardashian made this facial famous, but don’t let that dissuade you! It really is an affordable almost zero-downtime proven method for erasing fine lines and wrinkles and evening-out skin tone.

Microneedles were not originally invented for strictly cosmetic uses. Rather, they have been used by the medical community since the 1990s to help reduce serious scaring and even to help diabetics who need to take insulin and are looking for a less painful method than traditional injections.
