Non-Surgical Alternatives to Plastic Surgery at Sonata Aesthetics
At Sonata, we believe in providing you with alternatives to plastic surgery that you’re comfortable with and will give you results that will make you feel confident about the way that you look.
You might have noticed that your cheeks are beginning to have a deflated appearance that’s making you look older than what you are. Otherwise, you might have noticed that you have wrinkles between your eyes that make you appear angry or worried when you’re not. Another common problem that many of our patients have is discoloration of the skin from sunspots, age spots, and acne scars, and we can help with these aesthetic problems, too.
There are many reasons that men and women come into our office, and we have many alternatives to traditional surgery that can help you achieve the best version of yourself.

Types of Alternatives to Plastic Surgery Treatments
There are two basic types of treatments that you can get. While there are surgical treatments that are used to make you look younger and more refreshed, there are also many alternatives to plastic surgery that will help you achieve the best version of yourself. You should even know that there are treatments available that are gentler than they were in the past, which can reduce the amount of time that it takes for you to recover.
MINT Lift
MINT stands for Minimally Invasive Nonsurgical Thread, and the procedure is often also called the MINT thread lift. This invasive procedure is usually the right choice for people who are noticing sagging around the middle of the face, jowls, and eyes.
With this procedure, small, barbed threads are used to gently lift the skin to give the area a more taught appearance. A traditional facelift is more permanent, whereas, over the course of about 18 months, the threads used with a MINT lift will dissolve. But there are a few benefits to a MINT lift that a traditional surgery can’t attain. First, although a MINT lift isn’t permanent, it helps your body produce some collagen, which will also help you look younger for longer. Also, with this procedure, you will not be put under general anesthesia as you would with other types of plastic surgery, which means that it’s safer for you. Additionally, since there are only a few small needle punctures from the threads, you won’t have scarring, and you won’t have weeks of healing time.
Dysport® Injections
If you’ve noticed that certain parts of your face are beginning to get deep lines, you might be interested in Dysport® injections. The product is one of the alternatives to Botox and is like it in that it relaxes muscles in your face to soften lines between the eyes and to lessen the likelihood of new lines forming. Both Disport® and Botox are neurotoxins created from the bacterium clostridium botulinum, but Dysport® relaxes muscles by blocking the release of acetylcholine, whereas Botox completely paralyzes the muscles. The effects of Dysport® injections typically last about three months. It’s easy to confuse Dysport® doses with filler because the procedure looks similar, but Dysport® and fillers have slightly different purposes.
Fillers
Fillers are injected to fill in areas where your face has begun to have a hollowed-out appearance. Some of the areas of the face that benefit from fillers are the hollows of your cheeks, underneath the eyes, and near the temples. Fillers are also the right choice if you want to soften deep wrinkles. There are several kinds of fillers that we use at Sonata. Hyaluronic acid is a type of short-term filler, and one example is Restylane. A different type of short-term filler is calcium hydroxyapatite, and a brand of this is Radiesse. Both hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite are substances that the body makes naturally, and both will break down over time.
Renuvion By J Plasma
Over time, wrinkles, sunspots, and age spots form on your face. You might also have acne scars from when you were younger. Renuvion by J Plasma is so revolutionary that there aren’t many alternatives to plastic surgery that achieve the same types of results. This procedure can remove any imperfections on the face and neck. It uses cold helium plasma and radiofrequency energy to resurface the skin. Most people report that there is discomfort and pain while healing, which can last about six weeks, so you’ll need to take time off from work and social activities, but the cosmetic results can be dramatic and last for nearly ten years on the face.
Liposuction
If you have specific areas on your body that are larger than what you would like and don’t respond to diet and exercise, liposuction might be the best choice for you. At Sonata, we use two different kinds of liposuction treatments: smart liposuction and tickle liposuction. Tickle liposuction uses a device that vibrates to remove the fat more gently, and it’s called tickle liposuction because the patient feels a tickling sensation. Smart liposuction uses a laser to tighten the skin after removing the fat, which gives the patient’s skin a more taught appearance. This cosmetic procedure happens while the patient is awake, and the recovery time is less than it was with older methods. Additionally, you should know that you should be close to your ideal body weight already and be in good health. You should also know that you need to maintain your weight to avoid gaining in the area where you had liposuction
A Nose Procedure with Fillers
If you’re looking for a way to change the appearance of your nose without cosmetic surgery, you might choose to use fillers. For instance, if you have a hook nose and would like a nose that has a flatter appearance when looking at your profile, fillers can help you create that look. Fillers can also be used to create a smoother line if you have a nose with a bulbous tip. Typically, Restylane is used to create a softer line, and the benefit of using fillers to achieve your desired appearance is that you can go back to your work and other social activities immediately. Traditional nose plastic surgery often takes weeks of recovery time.
Brow Lift with Fillers
Filler can also help lift your brow by restoring fullness that is lost as you age. Many people get sagging eyebrows as they get older, which can make you look tired. Like a nose treatment, typically, a Restylane treatment takes about an hour. You’ll experience no downtime, and the results are immediate. The result is a less droopy eyebrow that can make you appear years younger.
Chin Augmentation
Surgical chin augmentations can give lasting results that will balance the proportions of your profile. Unfortunately, traditional chin augmentations also require surgery, which means that you will need to go under a general anesthetic. If you’re looking for alternatives to plastic surgery and are thinking about getting a chin augmentation, you should consider getting fillers in your chin. The benefit of having fillers rather than a full chin augmentation with a plastic surgeon is that you won’t need any time to recover because it’s a non-surgical cosmetic procedure.
If you’ve noticed that your chin is always dimpled, there’s a simple solution for this, too. A muscle that won’t relax causes the dimpling of the jaw. You can also have Dysport® injections to relax the tensed muscles that are causing the contractions.
Jaw Redefinition
Fillers can also be used to give you a more defined jawline. Like many parts of your face, as you get older, your skin begins to sag. If you’ve noticed that your jawline is starting to look soft, you might appreciate the benefits of injections to the surrounding areas. Like injecting fillers into your brow, you are injecting fillers slightly above the jawline will plump up the skin so that it has a less saggy appearance.
Jowl & Neck Lift
If you have sagging jowls, you might wonder about your alternatives to plastic surgery options. In this procedure, both liposuction and laser skin tightening is used to create a more youthful appearance and smooth out the jowls and neck. First, a cannula with a laser gets inserted below the surface of the skin. The laser melts fat, which gets removed through the cannula. The laser also tightens the skin to achieve a smooth appearance.
As you age, you might also notice that the skin around your neck becomes loose. Sagging neck skin can be tightened using a cannula with a laser at the end. The laser tightens the skin, and the procedure only uses a few small incisions. This procedure uses a local anesthetic, so you’re awake throughout the process, which means less risk for you than traditional plastic surgery.
Non-Surgical Facelift
If you’re looking for a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that can make you look like the best version of yourself, you might consider a non-surgical facelift. Some people are interested in alternatives to plastic surgery because of the recovery time, and some people want a very natural result. Fillers are often used over the entire face to give patients some of the benefits of regular plastic surgery. This type of procedure will typically include a variety of fillers and threads to improve the overall appearance of your face.
Alternatives to Plastic Surgery - Conclusion
There are many procedures in the field of aesthetics that can offer many of the benefits of traditional cosmetic operations without going through as much recovery time. Many alternatives to plastic surgery also provide better results than topical treatments. Fillers and Dysport® injections are two of the main types of treatments that you can receive at Sonata Aesthetics, but thread lifts and Renuvion are two other types of treatments that can significantly improve your appearance.
