Introducing the latest plasma skin tightening technology: Sub dermal Plasma
Sub-dermal J Plasma is a revolutionary minimally invasive technology being used for skin tightening anywhere on the face and body, with amazing results! This unique procedure is a great alternative to traditional face lifts, painful body sculpting, and tummy tucks. The procedure shrinks and sculpts loose skin without large incisions or downtime, and is much less invasive than traditional cosmetic surgery.

What is J Plasma?
Plasma is an energy state created by adding energy to a gas. J Plasma is an advanced energy device that combines cold helium plasma with RF energy. The Helium plasma focuses RF energy for a greater control of tissue effect, enabling an extreme level of precision and virtually eliminating unintended tissue trauma. Dr. Janowski uses a wand to gently “paint” the desired areas with the plasma energy.
We use J Plasma on a sub-dermal level to lift, tighten, and rejuvenate skin on the face, neck, and body, giving you natural looking results without the pain and downtime associated with “traditional” surgical procedures. We apply the cold plasma just below the skin to instantly contract the area, improving skin laxity and tightening.

Preparation for the procedure
Dr. Janowski and the Sonata staff will review all of the information you need for exceptional results during the procedure consultation. We can address any concerns and questions you might have, your desired results, and discuss the Dr’s techniques and anesthesia options.
Dr. Janowski, and staff, will perform the skin tightening as an outpatient same day procedure, usually taking between 1-3 hours. We recommend that you discontinue use of any products containing aspirin, ginseng, & green tea for two weeks prior to the procedure – as this can help limit any potential bruising.
How the J Plasma skin tightening procedure works
Performed in-office and under local anesthesia, the procedure will usually last between 1-3 hours – depending on the area(s) treated. Dr. Janowski will mark the areas for skin tightening, numb the area, and then make very small incisions. The J Plasma device is then inserted sub-dermally to deliver the cold plasma and instantly tighten and improve the skins elasticity. Invisible stitches will be used on the incisions, ensuring there is no scarring at the areas. Results will continue to improve while the skin heals and produces more collagen.
What to expect after the procedure & post treatment information
Our team will check in with you the day after the procedure, and every few days after to see how you are doing and answer any questions you might have. It is normal, and expected, for the treated areas to feel a bit tight and sore immediately afterwards. Any discomfort can typically be treated with Tylenol. If you have persistent and unmanageable pain, please call our office immediately.
Initial swelling and/or bruising can take a week or two to resolve, but most patients return to normal day to day activities within a few days. For facial procedures, we recommend that you wear a compression head garment for the first 72 hours post treatment. Although visible results are immediate, your body will continue to heal and produce collagen which will stabilize and further improve the results!
Other J Plasma Skin Tightening FAQ's
As with most procedures, it depends on the patient and their expectations and desired results. We can say that our skin tightening procedure can be done in a much quicker time with less downtime and (typically) less cost than a traditional surgical face lift procedure. In order to determine what is best for you, we encourage an open and honest discussion with Dr. Janowski during your free consultation.
As with all of our procedures, Dr. Janowski will spend time with you beforehand to determine if you're a good candidate for skin tightening. He will help you weight all of the pro's and con's so you can make your most informed decision. There will be some (generally) very manageable pain afterwards that can be tempered with Tylenol or Advil. Some redness and swelling may also occur, but should dissipate in a few days time while your skin is healing. We encourage you to ask any and all questions you might have before and after, as well.
We have seen men and women from the age of 40-80 for this procedure. If you have mild to moderate sagging skin in hard-to-exercise-away areas (neck, jowls, arms, knees, flanks), you could be a great candidate for this sub-dermal skin tightening procedure.
You will more than likely see immediate results from the procedure. Sometimes redness and swelling can occur which can distort the results, but you will be able to see special results right away. You will notice more firmness and tightening of the treated areas as the skin continues to heal and produce more collagen (sometimes even 3-6 months down the line!).
Unlike some other services, you should only need 1 session of the J Plasma skin tightening to achieve your desired results.
Many of our patients report returning back to work, or their normal daily routine, the next day. Because there is some swelling and redness, some people like to wait a few days before going back to "normal" activities.
